Lukáš Houdek's works are characterized by their humor. Lukáš is a graduate of Prague's UMPRUM - Rony Plesl's glass studio. His works are very specific, often identifiable at first glance - they are remarkable for the lightness that Lukáš manages to put into them despite the fact that he uses such a serious medium as glass. Lukáš does not limit himself to a specific technology or topic. He smoothly transitions from free realizations to design and back again. He is not afraid of new approaches or classic techniques, on the contrary, he tries to develop the technical and visual boundaries of the glass industry. He focuses on pop culture themes and parody. Humor and the overlap of design with free art is characteristic for him. After his studies he worked for the Moser company, now he develops the family company HG atelier founded in 1998 by his brother Filip. The company designs lighting features for private houses and residences. He also collaborates on unique objects with Yulin Huang, who currently works as a designer for Lasvit.
