BYSTRO DESIGN
BYSTRO DESIGN is a design studio founded by Dagmar Pánková and Leoš Smejkal in 2005. The studio has a wide scope from designing jewelry, lighting features and glass products to creating unique glass objects. In their joint work, there is a sense of humor and exaggeration, but above all is maximum emphasis on excellent craftsmanship. Dagmar Pánková (born 1971) is a graduate of the Glass and Applied Arts High School in Kamenický Šenov, where she currently teaches glass painting. In addition to painting, she designs jewelry, objects made of blown glass, uses silvered glass and a number of other techniques, including melting and fusing. Leoš Smejkal (b. 1973) studied at the Glass and Applied Arts High School in Kamenický Šenov and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He deals with the design of luxurious interior objects and lighting features, is the author of a number of unique glass sculptures and applies his excellent skills as a glasscutter in his creations. BYSTRO DESIGN are renowned glass artists whose work has attracted attention at a number of domestic and foreign exhibitions and competition shows, at glass symposia (e.g. IGS in Nové Bor) and the international triennial of glass and jewelery in Jablonec nad Nisou.
